How to dispose of your bamboo toothbrush

The low waste movement is taking and off and now bamboo toothbrushes are taking over from plastic ones which is great to see.

Unfortunately, the bristles are still made of (BPA-free) nylon although I am eagerly awaiting for another option to become available.

Dentists recommend that for any toothbrush, we should be changing it every three months so at the end of the three months, how do you dispose of your bamboo toothbrush safely? The first option is to reuse it. It makes a great scrubbing brush for those dirty corners of the home or for the shower.

If you have no use for the toothbrush, you can put the handle with the organic waste or compost it yourself (although doing this yourself could take years if it doesn’t have the right conditions to biodegrade).
